LSC Roundup 2-16

What happens to all those records?
With the swipe of a pen, Bernard Scott's amazing day on the football field Oct. 27, 2007, in Stephenville will become nothing but a memory. The same with the records Scott and his Abilene Christian University teammates set that season.

If the sanctions ordered by the NCAA on Thursday stand up, ACU must vacate its 10 victories in 2007 for using two ineligible athletes. Therefore, the Wildcats go from a 10-3 to 0-3. As far as the NCAA is concerned, those 10 games never were played -- and that means the statistics from those games must be erased from the books, too.

LSC not proud of back-to-back investigations
Stan Wagnon said the Lone Star Conference was disappointed that the NCAA penalized member Abilene Christian but not more so than a year ago, when Central Oklahoma's football tam was handed a three-year probation and its head coach cited for "unethical-conduct violations."

"It is difficult for all of us," the LSC commissioner said Friday, a day after ACU was cited for major violations in its track and football programs.
