The Buffs (9-4) enter tonight's Lone Star Conference crossover road game at the Northeastern State Riverhawks (6-5) owning a three-game win streak and victories in eight of their last nine games.
"We have a lot of new kids," Cooper said. "When you do that, there is a learning curve. For us, it wasn't quite steep enough at times. We lost a few games early, arguably we shouldn't have lost because we were figuring out our roles. We are beginning to figure that out."

The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs will go after their ninth straight women's basketball win today as they try to reach 15-1 for the first time in 13 years.
"Playing Northeastern State is always a tough game," said Gerlich, who enters this game with a career record of 96-17 (85 percent). "Playing them on the road is especially tough because they are an outstanding team and the games against these teams usually are close and down to the wire."
