LSC Roundup 3-19

MSU's experience an 'advantage' over Western Washington  - J Scott Russell, Times Record News
While the Midwestern State Mustangs will be making their third straight appearance in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight, Wednesday's opponent, Western Washington, will be making its first appearance in 11 years.  Vikings coach Brad Jackson, who took the 2001 team to the tournament, is hoping that doesn't prove to be too much of a disadvantage for his crew.

"Of course none of the players have been there and I'm not sure my experience will be all that helpful," the 27th-year coach said. "It's a different venue, and it will be a whole new experience. It's obviously a much better situation for them (MSU). That experience and having knowledge in the Elite Eight will be something they can seize upon to feel more comfortable. It's a good situation for them and it's an advantage."
