LSC Football Recap - Week 6 - LSC Office

West Texas A&M 35, Angelo State 9
Two interceptions and one returned for a touchdown by junior defensive back Curtis Slater helped lead West Texas A&M to a 35-9 win at Angelo State Saturday evening.  With the win, the 21st-ranked Buffaloes improved to 5-1 overall with their fifth-straight win and a league-best 4-0 in Lone Star Conference play.  Angelo fell to 3-3 on the year and 2-1 in conference play.

Junior quarterback Dustin Vaughan threw for 236 yards (16-32) and three scores with one interception.  Senior running back Khiry Robinson followed up his Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor with a career-high 145 yards on the ground on 18 carries for an impressive 8.1 average.  (Click here for complete release)

Abilene Christian 59, Eastern New Mexico 17
Mitchell Gale threw four touchdown passes and Abilene Christian University scored on three returns Saturday night to power the Wildcats to a 59-17 win over Eastern New Mexico University at Shotwell Stadium.

The Wildcats, 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the Lone Star Conference, won their fifth game in a row and 12th in 14 years over the Greyhounds (2-4 overall and 1-3 in the LSC).  The Wildcats travel to Canyon to play longtime rival West Texas A&M next Saturday at 6 p.m. (Click here for complete release)

Midwestern State 42, West Alabama 27
Midwestern State junior Keidrick Jackson erupted for a career-high 193 yards with three second-half scores to lift the 13th-ranked Mustangs to a 42-27 come-from-behind win over No. 18 West Alabama Thursday night at Tiger Stadium.

Senior quarterback Brandon Kelsey added 117 rushing yards and three touchdowns as MSU shredded the nation's No. 7 defense for 414 total yards including 348 on the ground. (Click here for complete release)
